Finance Department (Paterson Grade C5)
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for the entire accounting function of the Service. Provides financial information to line managers by analyzing data and preparing reports. The role is based at our Headquarters (HQ) in Ndabeni and reports to the Head - Finance.
Scope of work
- Staff supervision and training
- Month end reconciliations
- Payroll reconciliations
- Accounts receivable
- Accounts payable, EFT payments
- Systems management
- Annual budget
- Financial audit (including drafting financial statements)
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting Science /Cost and management Accounting
- An unendorsed driver’s licence
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Financial Manager or an Accountant
- Computer literacy with advanced excel skills
- Own reliable transport
- Knowledge of CaseWare will be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology will be advantageous
- A leadership or management qualification and/or previous experience in transfusion medicine or the health care environment would be an advantage.

- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work
- Detail oriented, ability to show initiative and take responsibility
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
