Job Description

The Senior Master Data Administrator works under the supervision and guidance of the Master Data  Manager on the data cleansing and categorization tasks. 

In the execution of data cleansing and categorization assignments and tasks the Senior Master Data  Administrator engages collaboratively with the Client and the Master Data team in order to take  instruction and understand and evaluate the data cleansing requirements according to the Clients  requirements and set up.  

The individual works under the supervision of the Manager while in the process of still acquiring the  necessary skills and knowledge to successfully complete their tasks to ensure that the team meets its  deadlines and deliverables.

Effective maintenance and creation of relevant Master Files  

  • Ensure the availability of global master data on request by:  

  • Ensuring all global master data is aligned across all Business geographies  

  • Performing ongoing analysis of all global master data  

  • Preparing data to be captured as per Customer and Client requests  

  • Monitoring and reviewing outputs 

  • Ensuring Master Files are amended and updated as per Client instructions  

  • Ensuring product pricing is accurate and in line with Client’s price lists 

  • Create and maintain Client and Table files 

  • Review procedures and systems and suggest enhancements 

  • Conduct regular audits on Client master data (both Customer and product) 

  • Ensure relevant, timely, accurate, aligned master data reporting across all Business  geographies 

Customer / Client satisfaction 

  • Attend to Client and Customer queries within agreed timeframes 

  • Build sound Client and Customer relationships by participating in regular meetings with  Clients / Customers and document as required 

  • Develop and maintain Client processes in response to Client requests  

  • Manage ad hoc projects for Clients and Customers as required  

  • Understand the expectations of stakeholders 

  • Present an analysis of data to Clients and business to provide business update  

3. Effective administration, analysis and reporting 

  • Monitor and measurement of operational activities 

  • Measurement of key outputs of Business and facilitate management  

  • Analyse audit reports to identify gaps, identifying enhancements and maintain erro tracking and compliance reports  

  • Ensure the integrity of data  

  • Action/administrate the structured schedule for all necessary reporting 

  • Screen operational reporting needs to ensure quality  

  • Generate and analyse reports to identify exceptions 

  • Assist with feedback on reporting when necessary 

  • Ensure operational reporting analysis, when required 

  • Applies a logical approach in resolving data inconsistency issues to ensure that the data is  cleansed, matched, checked, correct and accurate according to specification and rules. 

  • Accurately and correctly evaluates large volumes of data and identifies and highlights data  points and areas of inconsistency. 

  • Identifies and shares data cleansing process optimization and ongoing refinements with  the team. 

  • Shares learnings, and identifies, recommends and implements improvements, and changes in the data cleansing process.

Effective operational systems 

  • Maintain applicable databases 

  • Suggest and communicate recommended enhancements 

  • Collaborate with systems users and developers to ensure problems are resolved 

  • Assist with the efficient roll-out of new software 

  • Ensure records are kept regarding assurance checks and training 

  • Compile and submit reports for auditing purposes and implement suggestions

  •  Troubleshoots and resolves ad hoc issues and communicates progress and challenges on an ongoing basis

Job Requirements
  • Grade 12, Relevant Degree/Diploma 

  • 6-8 years’ administration experience, 

  • 2-3 years’ System maintenance and design  experience (SQL / database experience a requirement)

  •  Technical zeal with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and proficient in the use  of Data Orbis software and systems (Teams, SharePoint, Lattice, JIRA). 

  • Proficient in the use of Smollan software and Systems (Data Management System, JitBit, Mobility Platform). 

  • Highly analytical with problem solving skills. 

  • Effective reporting skills. 

  • Effective operational system knowledge / experience. 

  • Highly numerate. 

  • Effective systems administration knowledge / experience. 

  • Effective administrative skills. 

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. 

  • Attention to detail and quality oriented.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of PDC (Product Data Catalogues) and Accounts Receivable essential.
