Responsible for supporting process optimisation, efficiency improvements and operational enhancements within SBV by analysing workflows, identifying inefficiencies and assisting in project implementation.
Job Description

Identify operational methods and processes

  • Analyse existing operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies and improvement opportunities through the effective use of relevant tools.
  • Effective and correct utilization of process mapping and documentation tools (e.g. Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) to identify, define and document the existing and proposed operational methods and processes to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and contribute to revenue opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops (Joint Application Design) with relevant stakeholders to gather information to determine the business requirements. Plan, conduct and facilitate time and motion studies across all business functions, as and when required to analyse task efficiency and identify areas for improvement.

Governance

  • Subscribe and align to SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.
  • Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome.

Provide technical support and documentation

  • Assist in the creation of process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow diagrams.
  • Gather and organize information pertaining to business specifications and/or functional requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of process changes, test results and performance metrics.

Project support and implementation

  • Work under the guidance of process engineers to support process improvement projects.
  • Support the implementation of new processes, equipment and technologies.
  • Track project progress, identify risks and timeously report any issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to assess project success and identify lessons learned.
  • Work in close conjunction with the Regional Quality Improvement Manager to ensure a proper handover is facilitated to enable embedment and operationalization

Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support project execution and regional optimisation.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insights into process-related challenges and solutions.

Design and develop operational methods and processes

  • Effectively use business process design methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to create improved business processes aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs and ensuring quality.
  • Facilitate the engagement between stakeholders to get approval and signoff for the proposed design.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis where process breakdowns are identified and develop countermeasures.
  • Present proposed designs to relevant stakeholders and facilitate coordination of activities to enable quality delivery on design.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing for improved operational methods and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of training content for business users.

  • Drive the department’s values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.

Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change

  • Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers.
  • Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters/ concerns to the SME’s (subject matter experts) when required.
  • Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s portfolio.
Job Requirements

Minimum Work Experience Required 

  • 2 Years experience in an Operational environment, working in process or quality improvement

Minimum Education / Qualification Required 

  • B-tech Industrial Engineering or Operations Management
  • Degree or Honours in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management: Advantageous
