Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To safely operate Ground Penetrating Radar, compile records of data obtain pertaining to GPR, instruments readings, support units and anomalies spacing whilst undertaking regular underground visits to scan as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY 
• Ensure the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act No.29 of 1996) safety and health
             standards are maintained

CUSTOMERS
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction

BUSINESS PROCESSES
• Assemble, position and dismantle the system components of the GPR 
• Set-up and operate GPR scan and collect data
• Directs GPR Attendants in use of electronic equipment
• Adjust system in order to ensure proper performance
• Comply with instructions, procedures of GPR scanning and reporting information.
• Start the GPR system and monitor its operation
• Examine the GPR system components 
• Adhere to work orders and GPR schedules
• Detect errors and any malfunction in the system 
• Confer with SCO or Rock Eng. to resolve GPR problems

Job Requirements

Minimum qualifications:
• Grade 12 / N3
• Computer literate (Excel, Word, Power point)

Additional requirements:
• Medical fitness as per organisational requirements

Experience:

7 years relevant experience
