THE JOB AT A GLANCE

 

The Head: Healthcare Operations plays a key role in strengthening RMA’s healthcare capability through scalable operational models, disciplined governance and continuous improvement across healthcare facilities. They ensure high-quality and commercially sustainable healthcare operations through the integration and optimisation of the occupational healthcare value chain, with a focus on rehabilitation, functional recovery and return-to-work outcomes. They provide strategic and operational leadership across RMA’s healthcare service platforms, ensuring the effective delivery of patient-centred healthcare services aligned to RMA’s healthcare strategy, operational objectives and social insurance mandate. The role is accountable for operational excellence across health facilities, ensuring strong clinical governance, financial sustainability, quality patient outcomes and effective integration between healthcare operations and broader rehabilitation, disability management, and worker wellbeing objectives.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

Occupational Healthcare Value Chain Integration

  • Drive Integration of healthcare services across prevention, primary healthcare, acute care and rehabilitation
  • Drive alignment between healthcare operations, rehabilitation outcomes, worker recovery and commercial sustainability
  • Support operational integration of multidisciplinary healthcare teams involved in worker rehabilitation and recovery
  • Coordinate healthcare interfaces between healthcare providers, employers, funders and rehabilitation stakeholders
  • Strengthen operational integration between healthcare delivery and occupational healthcare administration.

Leadership of Healthcare Operations

  • Manages operational performance across healthcare facilities
  • Ensures continuous service delivery efficiency improvements
  • Management of all operational disruptions.

Clinical Quality and Patient Outcomes

  • Drives patient satisfaction (CSAT/NPS) and mitigation of patient events and incidents
  • Drives and ensures compliance with patient care standards.

Financial and Resource Management

  • Manages financial performance against approved budgets and ensures cost optimisation across facilities
  • Drives facilities’ utilisation rates.

Healthcare Infrastructure and Facilities Management

  • Manages all facility compliance and accreditation outcomes
  • Manages completion of maintenance and upgrade initiatives
  • Owns Health and safety compliance
  • Supports implementation of rehabilitation pathways, functional recovery programs and return-to-work models within the healthcare facilities.

Governance, Risk and Compliance

  • Drives and ensures Compliance with healthcare legislation and standards
  • Owns and manages audits and ensures clinical governance effectiveness
  • Controls and drives risk management functions for all facilities
  • Contracts management and SLA adherence.

Stakeholder and Provider Engagement

  • Builds quality provider and practitioner relationships
  • Maintains and manages stakeholder satisfaction levels
  • Collaborates and manages all healthcare ecosystem partners

People Leadership and Workforce Capability

  • Leadership effectiveness across hospital teams
  • Drives staff engagement across all providers and facilities as well as internally
  • Ensures succession coverage for critical operational roles
  • Retention of key clinical and operational talent.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Nursing, Business Administration or related field
  • 8–12 years’ experience in hospital or healthcare operations leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex healthcare environments and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, quality management, and clinical governance
  • Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and healthcare infrastructure
  • Experience within rehabilitation, occupational health or social insurance-linked healthcare environments (advantageous).
