PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Repairs and maintenance of all industrial instrumentation within the Smelter Business Unit.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO
- Execute industrial instrumentation planned maintenance with certification within specified time and give feedback to the foreman.
- Promptly attend to any industrial instrumentation and related process control systems breakdowns and callouts.
- Manage all maintenance work orders issued on time to ensure that weekly and monthly KPIs are met.
- Ensure that all industrial instrumentation and related process control systems are maintained, and plant reliability is optimized.
- Eliminate equipment downtime and speedily address any occurrences to minimize plant downtime.
- Complete weekly work orders (PM03) on time and give feedback foreman.
- Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences.
- Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all times while executing your duties.
- Manage others to ensure that unsafe conditions are reported on time to prevent any incidents or accidents.
- Participate in any inspection or audit as may be required.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A completed Matric qualification
- N3 or equivalent qualification
- Trade Test certificate in Instrumentation.
- At least 3 to 5 years' experience in the industrial instrumentation sector.
SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
- Ability to identify and solve problems for emergency maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to identify and proactively address industrial instrumentation faults.
- Interact effectively through communication at all levels and build relationships.
- Risk assessment skills.
