Job Description

At PEP, our culture is what creates magic for our dynamos and customers. As we continue to evolve and expand, we are looking for a dynamic People Solutions Lead to join our Central Office team. This role is designed for HR professionals with proven experience in strategic partnership, co-creation and execution of business plans. 

The role reports to the Head of Talent & People Solutions (Central Office), you will be the dedicated strategic partner for specific departments. You won’t work in a silo; you will collaborate closely with your peers and our Centres of Excellence to provide a seamless, high-touch “one-stop-shop” service to our business leaders.

Purpose of the job

To collaborate with business leaders to deliver people strategies that enable the achievement of business goals. This is done by leading the People Solution partner function for departments at the PEP Central Office.  This includes talent management,  development & culture as a trusted people partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic business partnering: Execution of our People Strategies that translate to business objectives being achieved. 

  • Culture: Drive our Sikhula KunYe culture and employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive and healthy work environment.

  • Talent Management: Design Talent Management and succession plans to identify, retain and develop talent within the organisation. 

  • Organisational Design and Development: Co-create and implement structural design aligned to business strategy and growth.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Partner with senior management and executive leadership to provide tailored insights and solutions on Key People initiatives, e.g., EE Plans.

  • Employee Relations: Co-create and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion plans across Central Office (CO) departments to ensure workplace harmony.

  • Collaborate with People Centres of Excellence & Shared Services to deliver effective solutions in recruitment, training and development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.

  • Reporting & Administration.

Job Requirements
  • An HR related qualification (degree)

  • At least 5-8 years relevant, fully fledged generalist experience,  interacting at senior levels, preferably in a retail corporate environment or related industry

  • Confident and passionate HR professional with a proven track record of being a trusted people partner, showing evidence of strategic co-creation to execution.

  • Good understanding of Recruitment & Selection, Employee Relations, Payroll and other general HR processes, policies and procedures

  • Computer literacy (MS Office and G-Suite); preferably G-Suite

  • Job profiling, problem solving &  decision tree mapping

  • Knowledge of job grading & REM Channel/Measure

  • Knowledge of talent acquisition and succession planning
