Job Description

Overberg Water is a Water Board established in terms of section 28 of Water Services Act, (No 108 of 1997) and is classified as Government Business Enterprise as per Schedule 3B of the Public Finance Management Act (No. 1 of 1999) as amended.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or NQF4
  • 7 years post qualification plant experience including the supervision of Class B water works.
  • Process Controller Class V certification for potable water from DWS.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft excel, Word, Presentation, Outlook).
  • Willingness to work standby and overtime.

DUTIES:

  • Daily supervision of all aspects with functioning of purification works
  • Supervision over process controllers and general workers at the scheme,
  • Monitoring of continuous water demand, interpreting and analyzing of the water qualities
  • Monitoring of reservoir levels.
  • Ability to follow the statutory requirements to promote the health of consumers, customers and employees.
  • Initiate and maintain communications with customers and stakeholders
  • Supervise the security of Assets and the scheme.
  • Ensure fully functional pumps and valves at the plant.
  • Monitor and order chemicals.
  • Compile weekly and monthly reports,
  • Manage and supervise staff to achieve maximum productivity
  • Manage cost center budgets.
  • Report to the System Area Manager.
