As our Assistant Production Manager, you will help drive operational excellence by leading production teams, improving efficiencies, and ensuring the consistent delivery of quality products to our customers. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence while ensuring performance, quality and service standards are consistently achieved. 

Your Impact:

  • Active involvement and management of production rates, manufacturing rates, changeovers and downtime (OEE) through existing manufacturing software tools.
  • Strategic manufacturing scheduling to ensure efficient use of resource (staff, equipment, materials) in the department.
  • Assist with data gathering and analysis of monthly budget received from the Finance department and track costs accordingly.
  • Perform technical adjustments on equipment to optimise product quality and throughout.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and the optimisation of processes through resource and facility planning and utilisation.
  • Identify staffing requirements and perform GAP analysis to drive labour optimisation.
  • Assist in evaluation, development, improvement and documenting the manufacturing process. 
  • Absolute understanding of equipment, key processes, layouts of services, production processes and production flow layouts. Learn the automation of machines and the manufacturing procedures.
  • Effective staff management and communication in the department to ensure an engaged, motivated and productive workforce.
Job Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management or related field.
  • Proven middle management experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of production machinery, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing process and enhancements.
  • Sound knowledge of quality systems and production standards.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) will be advantageous.
  • A proactive leadership style with the ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and drives results in a fast paced production environment.
