A Hospital Night Supervisor is a senior operational and clinical nurse who manages the entire hospital during night shifts. They ensure smooth after-hours operations, oversee patient safety, coordinate staffing levels across wards, and step in as the most senior administrative and clinical leader when daytime management is off-duty
Job Description

Support Shift leaders and trouble shoot problems

• Assess patient acuity

• Liaise with NSM for additional resources that is required

• Determine needs for the hospital as a whole

• Manage, drive and monitor BCA bundles, SHEQ, IPC and Quality principles in the hospital

• Co-ordinate and audit after-hour admissions, discharges, stock levels and medication levels

• Responsible for issuing medication timeously from the emergency cupboard, as per the Medication Policies

• Ensure that all departments in the hospital are emergency prepared

• Audit patient files to positively contribute to billing and revenue

• Effective management of wastage resources, stock and medication

• Regular ward and patient rounds

• Liaison between the various departments and stakeholders

• Effective delegation

• Adherence to the principles of patient advocacy

• High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure

• Education and Training

• Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels

• Ability to lead Melomeds’ vision and values

• Adhere and enforce hospital policies, protocols and quality improvement initiatives

• Ad hoc duties

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Nursing

• Post Basic qualification would be advantageous

• Practiced as a Registered for at least 5 years

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position

• Previous experience in a Private Hospital would be advantageous

• Detail orientated • Honesty and integrity

• Able to work independently

• Good management, planning and organizing skills

• Adaptable

• Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office

• Must be flexible

• Clear understanding of quality Risk Management

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must do Hospital Call as and when required

• Availability to work overtime as and when required
