Core Purpose of the Role:
To lead and deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective electrical engineering solutions for mining projects across their full lifecycle, enabling reliable, integrated power systems that support efficient operations and long-term value for clients in challenging mining environments

Project Delivery
- Successful delivery of electrical engineering scope across the full project lifecycle
- Achievement of project milestones within agreed schedule, budget, and scope
- Effective commissioning and operational handover of electrical systems
Technical Excellence
- High-quality electrical designs aligned with mining regulations, statutory requirements, client standards, and applicable national and international codes
- Sound engineering judgement applied to mine power systems, substations, MV/LV reticulation, renewables, hybrid systems, backup generation, and power quality
- Accurate system performance calculations and lifecycle optimisation
Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Compliance with all OHS and MHS Act requirements
- Proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of electrical and project risks
- Delivery of solutions suitable for surface and underground mining environments
Cost and Commercial Management
- Accurate capital and operating cost estimates
- Effective cost control and value optimisation throughout project execution
- Consideration of lifecycle costs and long-term reliability
Stakeholder and Client Management
- Effective coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong collaboration with operations teams, OEMs, contractors, and mine owners
- Clear, timely reporting to clients and senior management
Leadership and Coordination
- Oversight of all electrical engineering activities in line with project scale and risk
- Clear allocation of responsibilities and guidance to project team members

Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical engineering services for mining projects across surface and underground operations, mineral processing plants, bulk materials handling facilities, and supporting infrastructure
- Provide electrical engineering input across the full project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through detailed design, execution, commissioning, and operational handover
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved scope
- Lead and manage all electrical engineering aspects of projects, appropriate to project size and risk profile
- Define electrical project scopes, set milestones, allocate responsibilities, and track progress against schedules and budgets
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and project risks associated with electrical systems
- Report project progress, risks, and performance to senior management and clients
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated solutions
- Liaise with operations teams, OEMs, contractors, and mine owners to deliver practical and robust designs suited to harsh mining environments
- Lead electrical designs in compliance with mining legislation, statutory requirements, client standards, and relevant national and international electrical codes
- Design mine power supply systems, including substations and medium- and low-voltage reticulation
- Develop renewable, hybrid power systems, backup generation, and power quality solutions
- Prepare accurate project cost estimates, system performance calculations, and lifecycle assessments
- Apply sound engineering judgment and best practices to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation over the life of mine

Qualifications:
- BEng/BSc/BTech Electrical Engineering
- Professionally Registration with ECSA
Experience:
- Experience in various power project development phases, as well as various types of developments
- Accredited four (4)-year degree or global equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience in electrical and/or instrumentation engineering within mining, heavy industrial, or process plant environments.
- Recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field (as required by location).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with management, colleagues, clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable local, regional, and national electrical codes, instrumentation standards, and engineering regulations.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under time pressure.
Person Requirements

- Strong engineering design, problem solving, analytical, and cost analysis skills.
- Technical report writing, including proposal and tender development.
- Client interface and business development capability.
Additional Competencies
- Demonstrated experience with high-, medium-, and low-voltage power distribution systems, MCCs, substations, grounding, and lighting systems.
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, field instrumentation, and communication networks.
- Experience in electrical load studies, power system analysis, arc-flash studies, or hazardous area (Ex) classifications (preferred).
- Experience with project setup, development of control-level schedules, progress reporting, and project close-out.
