Job Description

We are thrilled to offer 7 Bursaries exclusively for our permanently (full-time) employed team members, who are passionate about growing their careers in Retail and want to pursue a formal qualification related to the industry. In partnership with the Wholesale & Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA).

This Bursary is more than just financial support, it's part of our long-term commitment to "Improving Lives" through learning and development.

FUNDING STRUCTURE:

  • Funding will be awarded to the student for 2025 academic year up to the value of R50 000 per student.
  • Funding will be towards tuition and books/stationery fees.
  • All claims will be processed after bursary registrations are approved by the W&RSETA and contracts are fully signed with Econofoods.
  • The grant claim form will trigger the payment of the bursary funding.
  • Following the successful completion and 'pass' of the first year, the company will submit a second year bursary to fund additional years.

QUALIFYING ACADEMIC PROGRAMS:

  • Higher Certificate, Diploma and Degree (NQF level 5-7)
  • Qualification at TVET Colleges (NATED N4 - N6)

PROGRAM ACCREDITATION:

  • SAQA Registration number for the programme/qualification 
  • CHE Registration approval letter for institution offering programme
  • DHET Registration Certificate for Institution offering programme
Job Requirements

QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

  • Currently employed by Econofoods / Taylor Made Foods (full-time) with minimum 2 years of service.
  • Demonstrated passion for Retail and growing within the company.
  • Qualification must be your first Higher Certificate/Diploma/Degree.
  • Already registered or planning to register with an accredited training provider.
  • Must be South African citizen.

RETAIL RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food Technology / Food Security
  • Financial Accounting / Management
  • Human Resources
  • Operations Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business Management / Administration
  • Credit Management

SELECTION DECISION:

Final Selection and awarding of bursaries will be at the sole discretion of Econofoods, based on business needs, individual motivation and alignment to development goals.

DOUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION:

  • Certified copy of ID (certified not older than 3 months)
  • Motivational Letter stating reason for application
  • Acceptance / Registration letter from the institution in relation to the study area as listed above
  • Cost schedule of the course - fees structure
