Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the diary of the Caucus Chairperson and assigned Whips
- Completing wide-ranging administrative tasks, including preparing letters, reports, minutes of meetings and presentations, as well as providing logistical support and conducting meeting preparation
- Communicating directly, and on behalf of the Caucus Chairperson and assigned Whips, with internal departments and external stakeholders, and responding to relevant queries
- Assisting the Chief of Staff in administrative and logistical matters relating to the office

Job Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role providing support to multiple executives
- Extensive diary management experience
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
Skills:
- Written and verbal communication, with the ability to draft formal correspondence
- Time management and organisation
- Administration and attention to detail
- Telephone and email etiquette
Abilities:
- Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
- Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
- Work independently
- Apply sound judgement and confidentiality
Knowledge and commitment:
- Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
