To support the implementation and monitoring of the Universal Service Fund project through technical planning, site identification, field verification and coordination with licenced operators.
Job Description

Key Performance Areas will include: 

  • Assists with site identification and planning using QGIS software; 

  • Conducts field work, including site inspections and verifications; 

  • Participates in network coverage testing and data collection; 

  • Supports site acceptance testing (ATP) in collaboration with mobile network operators; 

  • Compiles site visit reports, technical findings, and project documentation; 

  • Assists with monitoring project progress and maintaining records; and 

  • Performs other related duties in support of the Universal Service Fund Project. 

Job Requirements

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:? 

  • A Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in one of the following or related disciplines:  

  • Electrical Engineering; 

  • Electronic Engineering; 

  • Telecommunications Engineering; 

  • Information and Communications Technology (ICT); 

  • Network Engineering; and 

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) 

  • Applicant must be a recent graduate (qualification obtained within the last 1 to 3 years); 

  • Knowledge of project management principles will be an added advantage; 

  • Applicant must have worked knowledge of QGIS or similar GIS software; 

  • Basic understanding of Telecommunications networks and infrastructure, Network coverage concepts and site planning; 

  • Field measurements and technical verification processes; and 

  • Applicants should have zero (0) to six (6) months of professional experience in the areas of study. 

  •  

Mandatory Requirements 

  • Valid driver's licence;  

  • Physically fit and able to perform field-based duties, and willingness to travel nationwide for site inspections and verifications; 

  • Only unemployed graduates will be considered; 

  • Must be available Monday to Friday (08h00 to 17h00); and 

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit proof of Namibian  Police clearance.
