Job Description

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court and golf course. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting into the Organisational Development function, this role is responsible for conducting training needs analysis and leading the design, development, delivery and evaluation of engineering training programs. The role also oversees the management of the engineering training budget, coordination of the  Botash apprentice development program, and contribution to the review and improvement of policies and procedures within the area of responsibility.

Key Performance Areas

  • Conduct Training needs Analysis and development of engineering training plan.
  • Management of apprentice development.
  • Curriculum Development.
  • Training Delivery .
  • Evaluation of training effectiveness and recommendation of improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management.
  • Training Administration  including strong knowledge of HRDC and BQA processes.
  • Policy &  Process Review.
  • SHEQ Effectiveness.
Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering or any equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a mining or production environment
  • Assessor and Moderator certification.
  • At least 3 years work experience in the Learning & Development field.   
  • Experience with a learner management system will be an added advantage.        
  • Driver’s license.
