Job Description

 

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a soda ash and salt producing company situated on Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and a golf course. There are also excellent private and government pre-primary, primary and secondary schools.

MATHEMATICS TEACHER-HIGH SCHOOL

 

 

The major role of the incumbent will be to teach the “whole child” by attending to the intellectual, emotional and physical development of the students from, Form One to Four. The incumbent must be willing to participate in all school activities and Classroom Management.

 

Job Requirements

 

Minimum Requirements

 

v  Four-year Degree with the necessary qualification to teach Mathematics Subjects;  with, minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.

v  A minimum of 5 years of experience of teaching in an independent school environment will be an added advantage.

v  Must have proven track record of successful academic results for his/her learners.

v  Previous success of preparing learners for Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.

v  The candidate must demonstrate generosity of spirit, the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and have a philosophy of education that underpins a career of successful teaching practice.

v  Ability to coach various sporting codes is an advantage.

 

The Ideal candidate will be responsible for:

 

• Preparing lessons that reflect best practices and accommodate for individual differences of students.
• Planning a program of study that; as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creating a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning and teaching and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Striving to implement, by instruction and action, the company’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
