Job Description

 

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a soda ash and salt producing company situated on Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and a golf course. There are also excellent private and government pre-primary, primary and secondary schools.

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

 

SEMI-SKILLED RIGGER

 

 

To assist in completing various tasks pertaining to rigging and diagnose problems and provide service by;

 

  • Assisting riggers with loading tasks on all rigging and lifting equipment as per instruction/specifications received. 
  • Assisting with erection of scaffold.
  • Maintaining plant equipment from time to time.
  • Performing other duties as directed by the supervisor/foreman.
  • Implementing and adhering to the Botash SHE system in their area of responsibility.
Job Requirements

 

 

Requirements

 

  • O’ Level with at least Trade Test B or C
  • Mobile Crane Certificate of 35ton capacity.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position.
  • Heavy Duty(C1/C) and a Special Type (H).
  • Valid Driver’s license.
