KEY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

We are seeking a results-driven HR Administrator with a focus on Industrial Relations (IR) Administration, to be a trusted support to our business units. The successful applicant will be proactive, detail-oriented, and discreet to provide essential administrative support across the full spectrum of HR functions, with a particular emphasis on Industrial Relations (IR) administration. 

Role Overview:

The candidate will be working with HR Management regarding HR and IR queries, ensuring smooth daily operations and legal compliance.

This role requires hands-on delivery, acting as an administrative consultant, within various business units (over 40 client companies and 4000 employees).  

Staff Size: +4000 | +40 Entities  
Start Date: January 2026
Working hours:  Mon-Fri. Work from the office (no hybrid), flexible working hours e.g., 7am – 4pm or 9am – 6pm as long as 9 hours per day is achieved. Fridays till 4pm.

Key Responsibilities (not limited) 


Industrial Relations (IR) Support
• Assist in managing employee relations matters, including documenting incidents, preparing disciplinary records, and providing administrative support during grievance and disciplinary hearings.
• Maintain accurate records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure all staff are aware of IR/ER protocols.
• Stay updated on HR laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly South African labour laws (e.g., BCEA, LRA, WCA, UIF, POPI Act), to ensure compliance in all documentation and processes.
• Generate reports and presentations on IR metrics as required by management.

General HR Administration:
• Organise, maintain, and update physical and digital personnel records in our HR Information Systems (Salesforce/Sage 300) with high accuracy and confidentiality.
• Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts, new hire guides, policy updates, and termination letters.
• Assist with the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process as per HR Management requirements. 
• Provide contracts or necessary information is related to the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Respond to employee inquiries about HR-related issues or policies. 
• Generate reports and presentations on HR metrics as required by management.

 

 

Job Requirements

Key Requirements:


• Proven work experience (4+ years preferred) as an HR Administrator or in a similar administrative role with an IR focus.
• Thorough knowledge of South African labour legislation and compliance requirements is essential.
• Travel to other client companies may be required from time to time. Company pool vehicle is available, driver’s license required.
• Experience with HR software (Salesforce will be an advantage) and proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
• High level of discretion and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
• A relevant Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
