Job Description

The purpose of this Job: 

To ensure that the work carried out in panel shop is in line with manufactures standards and completed timeously and in accordance with group requirements.

 

Main Job Functions

• Achieve production targets - ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly targets 
• liaise with parts buyers and stores regarding parts for the vehicles  
• Measure the car to ensure it is squared, if it is not it goes to the machine where it is jigged so that it can align.
• Jointly signing of cars with panel beater assistants.
• Check all welding and body filling.
• Ensure all vehicles are checked with Panel beaters assistants and signed off by a qualified Panelbeater.

Maintenance of housekeeping standards by ensuring that: 

• Floorspace not cluttered 
• No parts are stored in vehicles 
• Damaged parts are disposed of 
• Tools are all in proper working order 
• Parts are not on the workbench and not on the floor.
• Panel beating department always meet health and safety standards.

Job Requirements

Critical Experience:

• A card 
• 4 years of experience in panel beating 

Minimum Education: 

• Matric 
• A card qualification 

Technical knowledge required:

• Electronic measuring system 
• Bench 
• Welding Trig 
• Rig Bruising 
• Oxy acetylene machine and safety thereof 
• Jiggs
