Job Description

Job Purpose

As a Solution Owner, you’ll work at the intersection of business and technology. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to uncover real business needs, turn them into clear, prioritised stories, and drive their delivery through an agile scrum team. You’ll own the journey from idea to implementation making sure every solution delivers measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

Product Definition and Delivery

  • Define and articulate the product vision, priorities, and roadmap
  • Work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories
  • Own backlog management, sprint planning, and story elaboration
  • Prioritise work effectively in environments with competing demands
  • Make trade-offs between scope, effort, and value to maximise product outcomes
  • Track delivery using agile metrics such as burndown charts and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Review, approve, and sign off completed work against agreed acceptance criteria
  • Ensure solutions delivered align with key business initiatives and strategic objectives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary link between the Scrum team, leadership, and wider business
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong working relationships
  • Build an understanding of users through interviews, surveys, and UX research techniques
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and strategic planning
  • Promote and advocate agile ways of working across the organisation

Leadership

  • Lead and support high-performing, accountable delivery teams
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of direct reports
  • Role-model organisational values and inclusive behaviours
  • Take accountability for team performance against agreed objectives and quality standards

  • Demonstrate strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills
  • Adapt effectively to change in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Experience

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Product Management/Ownership
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience across product ownership, product management, project delivery, and product development, with a strong understanding of end-to-end solution delivery in an agile environment.
