Work Description

The Supervisor Counsellor directs and oversees the work of the Lay, Adherence and Retention Counsellors toward the achievement of specific programme goals.

Technical Work Responsibilities

  • Supervise Lay, Adherence and Retention Counsellors
  • Draft and retain monthly schedules
  • Oversee that all staff have the necessary tools, equipment and material for effective productivity
  • Visit staff regularly at facilities and meet with all staff at least on a monthly basis
  • Liaise with facilities where the subordinates are based
  • Manage staff performance
  • Attend to complaints and take corrective actions
Job Requirements

Education

  • Matric/Grade 12

Advantageous

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social/Health Sciences

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in a HIV Counselling and Testing

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge or training in general or project management
  • HIV counselling and Testing certificate
  • RTQII knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Advantageous

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Own Vehicle
