Job Description
The main objective of the role:
- To directly manage the relationship between Aspen and all UK Wholesalers groups (AAH, Alliance, Phoenix and Mawdsley Brooks plus some short line), and major UK retail (Boots, Superdrug, Well)
- Oversee the Ireland business (wholesale, retail and hospital)
- Lead the sales performance and guide the UK & Ireland commercial team in the right direction, in combination with Finance Head and Head of North Europe
- Lead the commercial team (4 FTE – 2 NAM, 1 Account Executive and 1 Analyst) to achieve the sales budget, keeping in mind KPIs for Operating Profit
- Work alongside marketing to maximise their initiatives to improve the commercial success of the branded OTC business ie Emla
- Manage the interface between Aspen at its Logistic Service provider, Movianto
- Report to the Head of Northern Europe and provide constant updates on the current commercial strategy, performance and how to overcome challenges
In addition to the above, the duties will include:
- Negotiate with customers and suppliers to maximise ROI of the company
- To familiarise oneself with the current product portfolio and identify market trends and threats
- Maintain reports and records of the budgets, revenue and discounts that fall under the job role
- Support the other departments with queries about commercial processes ie Regulatory, Marketing
- Manage commercial risk and devise strategies to overcome them
- Be responsible for sales planning and accurate forecasting and delivering on quota, discount and expenses
- Be able to lead a team (direct and indirect reports) with energy focus and attitude
- Be responsible for motivating and developing the Account Managers, Commercial Analyst
- To ensure compliance with ABPI, and regulatory requirements.
- Meet corporate sales targets and optimize operational performance
- To negotiate sell in price promotions and sell through to end user
- To support Aspen’s product distribution for the National Wholesale and Retail chains using price promotion, realisations techniques as appropriate
Job Requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably within a science background
- Previous experience as commercial manager, or assistant commercial manager
- Minium of 5-8 years’ experience working within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to work under pressure independently as a commercial manager
- Skillset to develop and foster relationships with clients, suppliers and customers.
- OTC and Women’s Health experience an advantage.
