The successful candidate will gain practical experience in sales, customer service, stock control, store operations, and develop valuable product knowledge and build the skills to grow into a Parts Salesman role.
Job Description

Afgri Equipment Pietermaritzburg is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Parts Salesman Trainee to join our Parts Department.

The successful candidate will assist with parts sales, customer service, stock control, and general stores operations while receiving on the job training and product knowledge development. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in both the sales and warehouse environment, with the potential to develop into a Parts Salesman position within the branch.

The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Grade 12
  • Valid driver's licence.

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1-year parts sales and administration experience will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to customer service, sales, stores, warehouse, or inventory control environments will be advantageous.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Assist customers with parts enquiries and sales transactions.
  • Attend to walk-in and telephonic customer queries.
  • Assist with stock counting and stocktakes.
  • Receive, pick, pack, and issue parts accurately.
  • Ensure a neat and tidy parts and stores area.
  • Assist with stock control and inventory management.
  • Process quotations, orders, and sales accurately.
  • Develop product knowledge and sales skills through training.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / COMPETENCIES

  • Computer Literacy (MS Office).
  • Product knowledge or willingness to learn.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of stock control principles.
  • Basic understanding of parts identification.
