Job Description

To lead AFGRI Equipment's Technology and Tech Centre function by developing and implementing strategies that improve customer uptime, technology adoption, connected support performance, aftermarket growth and operational excellence across the dealer network.

The role is responsible for the management of Integrated Solutions, Machine Monitoring, Connected Support, Aftermarket Performance Monitoring and Business Coordination functions, ensuring that technology, data and business intelligence are effectively leveraged to improve customer retention, branch profitability, lifecycle support and aftermarket performance.

The position serves as the technology-enabled performance and continuous improvement arm of the Aftermarket organisation and supports Agriculture, Turf, Construction and Forestry operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION/TRAINING

• BCom, BSc Agriculture, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent degree
• Management qualification advantageous
• Project Management qualification advantageous
• Valid Driver's License

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE            

• Minimum 5 years leadership or management experience
• Extensive experience in Precision Agriculture, Connected Support and digital solutions
• Demonstrated experience in performance management, business improvement or operational support
• Strong understanding of aftermarket operations including Service, Parts and Customer Support functions
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
• Experience managing budgets and business plans
• John Deere product and technology knowledge advantageous
• Experience in customer retention and lifecycle solutions advantageous

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS         

Technology & Connected Support Strategy

• Develop and execute AFGRI Equipment's precision technology and connected support strategy.
• Drive customer adoption of digital solutions, machine connectivity and proactive support services.
• Identify and support new technology-enabled revenue opportunities.

Aftermarket Performance Management

• Monitor and analyse branch, functional and dealer performance.
• Identify performance gaps and prioritise continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive the implementation of corrective actions to improve profitability, retention and operational performance.

Customer Uptime & Retention

• Lead machine monitoring and connected support activities that improve customer uptime.
• Develop proactive customer engagement and retention programmes.
• Support the growth of lifecycle solutions and service-based offerings.

Business Coordination & Governance

• Oversee business coordination functions including governance, incident management, opportunity assessment, compliance documentation and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure information and documentation standards are maintained across the aftermarket business.
• Improve visibility, reporting and decision-making through structured business processes.

Business Development & Growth

• Identify, evaluate and support new business opportunities.
• Partner with Service, Parts and Sales teams to drive aftermarket growth.
• Support the development of technology-enabled aftermarket offerings and services.

Financial & Operational Management

• Compile and manage departmental budgets.
• Monitor performance against financial and operational objectives.
• Ensure effective utilisation of departmental resources.

People Leadership

• Lead and develop specialist teams.
• Create a high-performance culture focused on customer success, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Support succession planning and capability development.
