Job Description
The Product Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient handling of materials and finished products within the warehouse, including receiving, stocking, picking, material preparation and loading, while ensuring compliance with GMP, quality, safety and inventory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Receiving: Inspect deliveries and pallets, verify documentation, sort materials, identify damaged or suspect stock, and ensure goods are correctly received and recorded.
- Stocking: Store materials in the correct locations, maintain accurate stock locations and update the relevant inventory system.
- Picking & Dispatch Preparation: Pick materials/products according to instructions, secure loads and move completed orders to the staging area for shipment.
- Inventory & Quality Control: Identify and report stock or location discrepancies and maintain good housekeeping, GMP and safety standards.
- Planning & Work Execution: Prioritise daily activities and complete assigned tasks within required timelines.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate warehouse records, reports and system transactions.
- Equipment & Resources: Use warehouse equipment and resources appropriately and report resource requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and ways of working.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
- Minimum National Certification (N4–N6) or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Relevant warehouse/material-handling training would be advantageous.
- Must be trainable to operate specialised Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Experience:
- 2–4 years' warehouse experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in receiving, stocking, picking and handling materials/products.
- Experience working within GMP, quality and safety requirements would be advantageous.
