The purpose of the job is to manage the end-to-end organisation of warehouse logistics, including the delivery, storage, & dispatch of goods. It involves supervising the receipt of goods to ensure accurate accounting, secure & compliant storage.
Job Description
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations by planning and implementing systems for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and monitoring process adherence.
  • Drive consistent operational excellence by collaborating with senior management to develop strategies, optimise storage layouts, allocate resources effectively, and recommend improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues by working closely with warehouse staff, facilitating communication with administrative teams, identifying challenges in safety and service, and applying root cause analysis for timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance and operational integrity by staying current with regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits, maintaining accurate records, and continuously monitoring warehouse activities for adherence to standards.
  • Contribute to the organizational strategy by understanding key strategic drivers and direction and providing informed input during the annual strategic planning process.
  • Formulate and manage departmental operational plan by translating strategy into actionable initiatives, including projects and performance metrics, and submitting for approval annually or as required.
  • Develop departmental budgets by analysing operational needs, preparing detailed financial plans, and submitting budgets for approval annually and as required.
  • Safeguard departmental information by managing security and disaster recovery protocols, assessing existing controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and deploying mitigation strategies as required.
Job Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • B Com / B Tech in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Driver's license
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Business management or related will be advantageous
  • 7+ years’ experience in warehouse management 
  • 3+ year's experience in explosives value chain and Supply Chain Inbound
  • 5+ years people management experience
