Job Description

Job Summary:
To deliver high-quality analytical outputs that translate operational data into actionable business
intelligence. This role is responsible for the technical development of both ad-hoc custom reports
and the implementation of group-standard reporting from the Field Intelligence CoE, ensuring that
the Business Unit (BU) can make data-driven decisions to improve store-level execution.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Customer and Adhoc Report Development
? Build, maintain and enhance tailored reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytical solutions that address specific business requirements, client requests and operational challenges.
? Develop reporting outputs that provide accurate, timely and actionable business intelligence.

CoE Standard Implementation
? Execute, maintain and optimize group standard reports and dashboards provided by the Field Intelligence CoE, ensuring alignment with Business Unit requirements and reporting
standards.

Insight Generation and Interpretation
? Analyse operational and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, performance gaps, and root causes.
? Develop actionable recommendations that support business performance improvement and informed decision-making.
? Monitor external trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify risks, opportunities and performance implications.
? Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations that support Strategic and operational decision-making.

Stakeholder partnership and Business Support
? Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, communicate findings, present recommendations and support the implementation of insight driven actions.
? Communicate insights, recommendations, and progress updates to relevant stakeholders to support informed decision making and action planning.

Data Quality and Reporting Assurance
? Validate reporting outputs, identify data quality issues affecting reporting accuracy and work with relevant teams to ensure reliable and trustworthy analytical outputs.
? Analyse PI performance to identify root causes of underperformance, operational gaps, emerging trends, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

Technical Documentation and Reporting Governance
? Maintain documentation of reporting logic, calculations, data sources, methodologies, and dashboard standards to ensure consistency, audibility, and continuity within the reporting environment.
? Apply data mining and statistical techniques, including regression analysis and predictive modelling methodologies, where applicable.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: Diploma (NQF Level 06) or Degree (NQF level 07) in Information
    Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or Data Science.
  • Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in information technology, data analysis and data modelling, preferably within a retail or FMCG
    environment. Proficiency in SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Qlik) is required. 
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Data Analysis and Manipulation of Data.
  • Data Interpretation and Visualization using Power BI, Qlik, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of Retail and Customer Analytics.
  • Business Intelligence Management.
  • Data Modelling, Reporting Governance and Information Architecture.
  • Excellent technical skills in SAS, SQL or equivalent tools
