Job Description

Lead and manage engineering and maintenance activities within the assigned production area to ensure safe, reliable and compliant equipment performance, minimise downtime and support achievement of production objectives.

Job Requirements

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance activities within the assigned production area.
  • Ensure equipment reliability, availability and performance to support production requirements.
  • Plan and oversee preventative, corrective and shutdown maintenance, ensuring work is completed safely and on time.
  • Partner with Production and Planning to prioritise maintenance activities and minimise operational disruption.
  • Drive root cause problem-solving, OEE improvement and continuous improvement to reduce recurring equipment failures.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, SHE, legal and engineering standards, including effective contractor management.
  • Lead, develop and manage the performance of Maintenance Team Leaders, Planners and technical resources
  • Manage maintenance costs, Opex/Capex, KPIs and maintenance backlog, ensuring resources are effectively utilised.
  • Manage and ensure quality standards are maintained and ensure good engineering practices

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
  • Trade tested Fitter/ Electrical/ Millwright will be advantageous

Experience: 

  • 5 years Pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Supervisory experience
