Job Description

Lead the day-to-day execution of maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, safe maintenance execution and minimal production downtime, while managing and developing the maintenance team.

Job Requirements

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise the daily and weekly maintenance activities of artisans/technicians
  • Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance is completed safely, effectively and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning and Maintenance to prioritise work and minimise production disruption.
  • Ensure equipment and assets are maintained in reliable operating condition and address recurring equipment failures.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules and outstanding maintenance activities through to completion.
  • Provide technical support, coordinate problem-solving and equipment changeovers, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage team performance, capability, productivity and contractor performance
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, SHE, legal requirements, policies and maintenance standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • N4 - N6 or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering with 5 years’ related experience
  • Trade tested Fitter/ Electrical/ Millwrig

Experience: 

  • 3 years Pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Supervisory experience
