Job Description

AVBOB Mutual Assurance Society invites suitably qualified and unemployed graduates to participate in an exciting Internal Audit Internship Programme.

The successful candidate will join the Internal Audit Department and gain valuable practical experience in internal auditing, risk management, governance, compliance, and internal control processes. The programme offers an excellent opportunity for graduates to develop professional skills and gain exposure to a corporate internal audit environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of internal audit assignments.
  • Participate in the review and evaluation of internal controls, business processes, and risk management practices.
  • Support audit testing and the collection, analysis, and verification of audit evidence.
  • Assist in identifying control weaknesses and areas for process improvement.
  • Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the drafting of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in follow-up audits to assess the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
  • Conduct research on auditing standards, governance, risk, and compliance matters.
  • Assist with administrative duties within the Internal Audit Department.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Job Requirements
  • Unemployed graduate aged between 18 and 35 years.
  • Degree or National Diploma in one of the following fields:
    • Internal Auditing
    • Accounting
    • BCom Accounting
    • BCom Internal Auditing
    • Progress towards obtaining the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or a demonstrated interest in pursuing the CIA professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
