Adcock Ingram Consumer Division is looking for a Senior Buyer to join the Supply Chain department based in Midrand.

Position reporting line: Head of Supply Chain

Job Purpose:

Manage the supply planning and buying responsibilities of finished goods for brands forming part of the Energy sub-category.  Regular engagements with 3rd Party Manufacturers, Adcock owned facilities and Material suppliers. 

Key Job Outputs: 

  • Raise purchase orders on suppliers timeously
  • Do Supplier Evaluation and Development
  • Expedite orders placed to ensure timeous deliveries
  • Manage shipping of imported items
  • Manage production at Third Party premises where applicable to ensure timeous deliveries
  • Generate Stock Management reports for the Energy subcategory
  • Liaise with the Customer Demand team to keep them informed of stock challenges and solutions proposed.
  • Provide the relevant stockholding information and represent the supply side in the monthly Demand Review Meetings.
  • Ensure timely backflushing and reconciliation on Oracle for the finished goods bought.
  • Liaise with GQA and Release Pharmacist to ensure timely release of goods and compliance to quality management related requirements.
  • Ensure contract management compliance within the portfolio.
  • Ensure New Product launch dates are met from a supply planner/buyer perspective and stock is available continuously.
  • Implement cost savings initiatives to mitigate against cost inflation.
  • Ensure continuous relationship management with suppliers
  • Ensure Supply resilience is built into the Energy subcategory portfolio

Job Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management
  • 5 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry in a similar position
  • MRP System such as Oracle experience is required
  • Computer literacy: MS Office - strong excel skills a must
  • Valid drivers’ licence and own vehicle is advantageous
