Are you a commercially driven retail leader who can turn strategy into exceptional store performance? Footgear seeks a high-performing Regional Manager to lead operations across the Western and surrounding areas. This role is accountable for accelerating sales growth, strengthening operational excellence, and delivering a consistent customer experience across the region.
Job Description

This role is responsible for profitable growth and consistent execution across a regional store portfolio. Leading Area and Store Managers, you will translate strategy into action while driving performance in merchandising, customer experience, inventory control, compliance, people leadership, and cost management.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Drive sales and profitability: Deliver regional sales and profitability targets through rigorous performance management, focused intervention plans, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead retail execution: Ensure consistent merchandising, promotional execution, replenishment, and customer-journey standards across all store formats.
  • Champion customer experience: Embed Footgear’s service culture, resolve escalated customer matters, and coach teams to improve service outcomes.
  • Build high-performing teams: Develop leadership capability through coaching, talent development, succession planning, performance management, and effective employee relations practices.
  • Protect stock and assets: Strengthen stock, cash, banking, till, receiving, and asset controls while reducing shrinkage and improving risk outcomes.
  • Manage compliance and safety: Ensure stores meet company policy, labour, risk, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Control costs: Manage staffing, rosters, casual labour, travel, and controllable expenses within budget while protecting productivity.
  • Use insight to act: Analyse sales, operational, and compliance reports, provide clear performance updates, and convert insights into measurable action.
  • Maintain regional visibility: Conduct structured store visits across the Western and surrounding areas to support execution, capability, and performance.
Job Requirements
  • A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, or a related field is advantageous.
  • At least five years’ retail management experience, including three years in a multi-site or area-management role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using retail reporting, point-of-sale, and workforce-management systems.
  • Reliable transport and flexibility to travel frequently, including overnight stays when required.
  • A proven record of delivering sales growth, operational excellence, and cost control across a regional store portfolio.
  • Experience leading Area Managers, Store Managers, and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, stock and cash controls, risk management, HR, and employee-relations processes.
  • Strong analytical, planning, reporting, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across the Western and surrounding areas.
