AFGRI Group Holdings is looking for an Operational Finance Administrator to be based in Centurion, GP. The successful applicant will play a key role in strengthening financial reporting, governance, audit readiness and ESG disclosures, while delivering accurate analysis, reconciliations and operational finance support.
Job Description
To administer and coordinate AFGRI Group Holdings’ reporting, governance records and assurance evidence, while providing accurate financial, reporting, systems and project support to the Financial Controller: Operational Finance.The role includes supporting reliable ESG and sustainability disclosures, continuous audit readiness and sound operational finance support through disciplined data management, reconciliations, analysis and stakeholder follow-up.

Education / Training
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably a BCom in Accounting, Financial Management, Finance, Business Management or a related commerce discipline; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, Corporate Governance or a closely related ESG field.
- Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles will be advantageous.
- A recognised postgraduate or professional qualification in ESG, sustainability, integrated reporting, climate or environmental management will be advantageous.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant financial administration experience.
- Experience or exposure to reconciliations, management accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience in ESG or sustainability reporting, ESG data administration, governance, assurance and compliance will be advantageous.
Key Performance Areas
1. Operational Finance Reporting and Month-End Support
- Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliations, journals, intercompany schedules and supporting management information.
- Follow up on outstanding submissions and investigate financial and data exceptions with relevant stakeholders.
- Reconcile financial and non-financial information and prepare variance and trend analyses with appropriate supporting audit trails.
2. Budget, Forecast, Audit and Financial Control Support
- Assist with the collation, reconciliation and validation of budgets and forecasts and maintain supporting schedules.
- Compile audit packs, reconciliations and supporting documentation, and assist with audit information requests and assigned queries.
- Support Annual Financial Statement and monthly tax pack processes while operating within approved financial controls and review requirements.
3. Finance Systems, Data Integrity and Project Support
- Support SAP data integrity and reporting activities, Cognos reporting requirements and CaseWare-related administration.
- Provide financial and ESG data support for approved Group, Operational Finance and business-unit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting templates, controls, processes and evidence management, and escalate system or data issues where required.
4. ESG Data Administration and Performance Reporting
- Maintain ESG reporting data, records and supporting documentation and coordinate periodic information submissions from business units.
- Review ESG submissions for completeness and consistency, and follow up on missing, late or inconsistent information.
- Track sustainability KPIs, environmental and social metrics, targets and action plans and prepare relevant trend, variance and exception analyses.
5. ESG Governance, Compliance and Assurance Readiness
- Maintain ESG policies, frameworks, reporting calendars, committee records, action tracking and compliance evidence.
- Prepare and maintain structured ESG audit files, disclosure schedules and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate assurance information requests and track findings and corrective actions to support ongoing audit and assurance readiness.
6. ESG Reporting Packs, Dashboards and Stakeholder Submissions
- Collate ESG information and prepare recurring reporting packs and dashboards for relevant stakeholder reporting requirements.
- Maintain reporting calendars and prepare supporting information for annual, integrated and other stakeholder reporting.
- Maintain CSI records, track approved budgets and expenditure information and compile supporting data for impact reporting.
