Job Description

  Accounts Receivable and S&T Administrator


Permanent Post


Responsible for accurate processing and reconciliation of debtors and creditors transactions, effective debt collection and reporting, and detailed analysis of key control accounts. Ensures compliance with SAMRC/MRC policies, PFMA, procurement guidelines, and SARS legislation in the processing of S&T claims and advances. Ensures the accurate processing of staff claims against correct project and general ledger codes, preparation of journals with full supporting documentation, and administration of SIR and extramural grants. Performs month-end checks on creditor payments to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.




Key Responsibility Areas will include the following:


  • Accuracy and timelines of processing of debtors invoices, receipts and credit notes, the correct project and general ledger code; correct debtors account. Adequate supporting documentation e.g. order/contract/bank statement and proper authorization.
  • Correct VAT treatment
  • Following up on outstanding debtors.
  • Prepare Debt Collection report.
  • Identify close out journals, credit notes
  • Identify doubtful debts timeously
  • Analysis of general ledger accounts.
  • Grant and extramural unit administration.
  • Review Creditors EFT payments.
  • Adhere to subsistence & travel policy, entertainment policy. Accuracy & timeliness of processing to the correct supplier account & documentation. Ensure copies are made for HR spreadsheet, Board member account allocation.

Job Requirements

Core Requirements:


  • 3-year National Diploma in Accounting
  • At least 5 or more years’ post qualification experience across general financial accounting, including accounts receivable management, debt collection and corporate subsistence and travel administration frameworks required.
  • Public Management Finance Act
  • Driver’s license

  • Degree in Accounting or relevant
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
