To maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of company gardens, grounds, buildings, and facilities by performing gardening, landscaping, cleaning, and general maintenance duties. The Gardener / General Worker is responsible for ensuring that outdoor areas are neat, safe, and well-maintained, while supporting the efficient operation of the business through various general labour tasks.
Job Description
  • Maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, and landscaped areas
  • Water plants, trees, and lawns as required
  • Cut grass, trim hedges, prune plants, and remove weeds
  • Collect and dispose of garden refuse and waste
  • Maintain cleanliness of company grounds, parking areas, and surrounding premises
  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials when required
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards
  • Support other departments with general labour tasks as required
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety requirements
Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, cleaning, or general labour
  • Basic knowledge of gardening equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform physical and manual labour tasks
  • Physically fit, strong, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
  • Knowledge of safe working practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
