Job Description

Tharisa Minerals invites suitably qualified, motivated and career-driven Electrical Engineering graduates to apply for the Engineering in Training (EIT) Programme. This structured development programme is aimed at graduates and diplomates who aspire to obtain the Government Certificate of Competency (GCC):Electrical Engineer (Factories) and build a career in industrial, manufacturing, processing, utilities and plant engineering environments. Be willing to work across Arxo Metals (one of Tharisa’ssister companies)different sites (Brits, Kempton Park, Buffelspoort).

Job Requirements

To apply for our Engineer in Training programme candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a BSc/BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) from a recognised institution.
  • Post-graduate experience in the maintenance and operation of mechanical and/or electrical machinery will be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing the Government Certificate of Competency (GCC): Electrical Engineer (Factories).
  • Be willing to complete and pass the GCC examination administered through the Department of Labour.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  •  Have sound report-writing skills.
  •  Be medically fit to work in an industrial environment.
  •  Have a valid driver's license
