The Photographer is responsible for producing high-quality product photography for e-commerce, ensuring that all
imagery meets the brand’s visual standards, technical requirements and production timelines. The role will primarily focus on high-volume product photography, while also providing support on social media, location and other studio shoots as required.
Working closely with the Photography Lead, the Photographer will contribute to product styling, lighting, image capture and retouching, ensuring that all visual content is accurate, commercially effective and consistent across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
E-commerce Photography:
Capture high-quality product photography for the e-commerce website in line with established brand and studio standards.
Execute high-volume product photography efficiently while maintaining consistency in quality, composition, colour and lighting.
? Ensure products are accurately represented and photographed according to required layouts, angles and specifications.
Tether and manage images during shoots, ensuring efficient image capture and file management.
Apply strong knowledge of composition, exposure, colour and lighting to produce commercially effective product imagery.
Work closely with the Photography Lead to ensure all e-commerce photography meets required quality and production standards.
Product Styling:
Assist with styling products for e-commerce and other photographic shoots.
Ensure garments, footwear, accessories and other products are presented accurately and appropriately for photography.
Prepare products before shoots, including steaming, positioning and styling where required.
Demonstrate an understanding of fashion styling, proportions, composition and how products should be presented commercially.
Assist the Photography Lead and styling team in creating consistent looks across different product categories and business units.
Lighting & Studio Production:
Set up and operate professional studio lighting and photographic equipment.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of lighting techniques, modifiers and exposure.
Assist with the preparation and breakdown of photographic sets and equipment.
Maintain consistent lighting and photographic quality across high-volume shoots.
Identify and flag equipment or technical issues to the Photography Lead or Production Manager.
Assist in ensuring the studio remains organised, efficient and ready for production.
Retouching & Post-Production:
Provide retouching and post-production support for e-commerce imagery.
Perform basic to intermediate image editing and retouching in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Assist with colour correction, cropping, background cleanup, product consistency and other image adjustments as required.
Ensure edited imagery adheres to brand standards and e-commerce specifications.
Work closely with the Photography Lead and post-production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of imagery.
Perform basic to intermediate image editing and retouching in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

? Shoot Support:
Assist the Photography Lead on social media, location, model, lifestyle and other photographic shoots as required.
Support the preparation and execution of sets, lighting and equipment for different types of shoots.
Assist with directing and positioning products and models where required.
Adapt photographic approach and lighting techniques according to the requirements of different shoots and platforms.
Provide flexible production support during peak periods and high-volume shoots.
Digital Asset & File Management:
Maintain an organised digital image library and ensure files are correctly uploaded and filed in accordance with studio processes.
Follow established workflows for image capture, storage, editing and delivery.
Assist with maintaining accurate photographic records and reporting on completed work.
Studio Culture & Collaboration
Report directly to the Photography Lead and work closely with the wider studio and operations teams.
Participate in regular team meetings and photography workshops
Collaborate to a positive, supportive studio culture
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma/Degree) in Photography, Visual Arts or a related field.
2- 3 years' relevant experience in professional photography, preferably within an e-commerce, home, fashion, retail or digital environment.
Proven experience in product and/or e-commerce photography.
Experience in fashion photography and working with clothing, footwear and accessories will be advantageous.
Strong product styling skills and an understanding of how to present fashion products commercially.
Strong understanding of composition, exposure, colour, product styling and lighting.
Strong understanding of studio lighting and modifiers; Godox experience will be advantageous.
Professional experience with studio photographic equipment and lighting.
Experience with image retouching and post-production.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Experience with Capture One will be advantageous.
Understanding of tethered shooting workflows will be advantageous.
Strong understanding of photographic and image terminology.
Basic videography knowledge will be advantageous.
AI knowledge or experience using AI tools within photography and post-production workflows will be advantageous.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent image quality.
Ability to work collaboratively and take direction while also demonstrating initiative.
A good understanding of the fashion industry and current visual trends will be advantageous.
Knowledge of image libraries, digital asset management and photographic file organisation.
