Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a Machine Operator based in Kempton Park.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Simulation Cleaning Room

  • Clean simulation samples for QC tests.
  • Clean small and medium seed lots.
  • Keeping records of cleaned simulation samples and seedlots.
  • Ensure simulation machines are cleaned and inspected before work commence and report any machine faults to Cleaning Manager. 
  • Ensure Simulation Cleaning Room and equipment is regularly cleaned and report any faulty equipment to cleaning manager.

Stock Take

  • Assists with the bi-annual stock take as needed by Cleaning Manager

General

  • Assists fellow workers with execution of tasks whenever own responsibilities have been executed and completed.
  • Ensures that work area/s are neat, tidy, organised and clean at all times.(Housekeeping)
  • Ensure that all procedures as per Company requirements are followed accurately.
  • Assists with and adheres to security measures to ensure the safety of personnel, products, assets and facility.
  • Acts responsible and professionally at all times, fostering goodwill and a positive image for the Company.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Grade 12 (essential)

Experience:

  • 1 Year General Worker (preferential)
  • Previous factory and machine operation experience

Knowledge:

  • In-house: policy and procedures
  • Computer Literacy

Skills:
