Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Cabin Services Assistant Manager at our Durban & Lanseria Bases. The successful applicant will report to the Cabin Services Manager.
Job Description
- Daily management and supervision of Cabin Crew staff;
- In conjunction with the Recruitment department, conduct screening, interviewing, vetting and selection of new entry Cabin Crew;
- Draft and implement changes to the FAM and training programmes as and when required;
- Prepare all additions and amendments to the FAM;
- Review content of training material and exam papers;
- Attend training administration meetings;
- Compile directives and notices to cabin crew members as and when required;
- Liaise with other relevant departments / stakeholders to ensure that they are adequately briefed concerning services and other procedures concerning cabin services;
- Check Crew license currency on a daily basis;
- Manage administration and approval of all leave applications on ESS;
- Investigate any abuse of leave / sick leave;
- Assist with the preparation, control and administration of the Cabin Crew department's budget;
- Attend management and other meetings representing the Cabin Crew department as may be applicable and ensuring action items are executed;
- Prepare exception reports on roster fairness and present to manager;
- Facilitate roster requests;
- Provide monthly guidance to the Rosters department;
- Implement SACAA regulations pertaining to Cabin Crew responsibilities, including flight and duty requirements;
- Ensure compliance as it relates to Flight Operations processes and standards as delegated by the Manager;
- Assist with the implementation of relevant procedures, standards, specifications and guidelines within Flight Operations;
- Action all accident / incident and other occurrence reports were applicable;
- All safety reports to be escalated to Manager;
- Process and Action all cabin crew member flight reports;
- Monitor and action fatigue related safety risks;
- Assist with the implementation of the departmental KPl's;
- Enforce the overall welfare and morale of all Cabin Crew members through regular and professional engagement with cabin crew members;
- Action the overall discipline of all Cabin Crew members (educating, corrective measures, first line warnings);
- Together with ER Team, coordinate all activities relating to Employee Relations (i.e. investigations, hearings, etc.) and represent the company on matters at the CCMA.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Hold a valid Cabin Crew Member license (Essential);
- Minimum of 7 years' flying experience, of which at least 5 years must have been in an In-Charge/Senior Cabin Crew capacity (Essential);
- Willingness and ability to travel between operational bases as required (Essential);
- Clear disciplinary record (Essential);
- Consistent and reliable attendance record (Essential);
- Willingness and availability to work outside normal office hours, as required by operational demands (Essential).
