Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Responsible for managing inventory and stores activities while ensuring the safe receipt, storage, issuance, and accounting of fuel used in mining operations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stores Management

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Issue stock items to authorized personnel in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and stock reconciliations.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with re-ordering requirements.
  • Ensure proper storage, housekeeping, and preservation of stock items.
  • Prepare stores reports and maintain all related documentation.
  • Assist with inventory audits and compliance checks.

Fuel Attendant Duties

  • Receive and verify fuel deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Dispense fuel and lubricants to authorized vehicles, mobile equipment, and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate fuel issue records and daily fuel reconciliation reports.
  • Monitor fuel stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Ensure fuel storage facilities comply with safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform routine checks on fuel pumps, tanks, and dispensing equipment.
  • Prevent fuel losses through adherence to established controls and procedures.
  • Maintenance of the list of all vehicles and equipment approved for fuelling
  • Be the first responder to spillage emergency and ensure timeous reporting and containment of leaks and spillages

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all mining safety, health, environmental, and security regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support other logistics and warehouse activities as required.
Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Warehousing, Inventory Management, or a related field
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience in stores management, warehousing, inventory control, or fuel handling operations, preferably in a mining, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with mining consumables, spare parts, and fuel management practices.
