Job Description

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service? We are looking for an experienced individual with a Code EC drivers’ licence that can multi task. We require someone that is physically fit and able to lift and move around heavy Clinic Equipment. This position is based in our George Regional Branch.

A permanent vacancy exists for Donor Attendant / Driver, (George, Paterson Grade B3) 

Purpose of the Job

To maintain an effective flow of the blood donor clinic by:

  • Carrying clinic equipment to and from venues.
  • Assembly of the clinic.
  • Interacting with the donors.
  • Preparing the donor for donation.
  • Monitoring the donor during the donation.
  • Ending the bleeding process.
  • Dealing with adverse reactions.
  • Transport staff and equipment safely to and from clinics.
  • Registration and linking of donors.
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Matric Certificate
  • A Code EC driver’s licence without endorsements and a valid PrDP with 3 years driving experience
  • Computer Literate
  • The working hours are variable and shift work is required with some weekend work and call-outs.
  • First Aid qualification (Advantageous)

 

A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required:

  • Well spoken, well groomed with good communication skills
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and able to deal with the public
  • Accuracy in data collection and attention to detail
  • Have a friendly disposition and a willingness to “go the extra mile”
  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment is required

 

As part of the recruitment and selection process, you may be required to complete a psychometric assessment.
