A Pediatric Registered Nurse specializes in the physical, emotional, and developmental care of infants, children, and adolescents. They bridge the gap between young patients and doctors by conducting clinical assessments, administering weight-based medications, and providing crucial family education.
Job Description
  • Demonstrate passion for children and their parents / carers
  • Work within scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
  • Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
  • Promote and maintain patient health and give health education
  • Strong quality patient care orientation
  • BLS competent
  • Accompany Doctors on ward rounds
  • High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
  • Identify risks and identify incident policies
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
Job Requirements
  • Current Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Proven experience as an Enrolled Nurse in Paediatric ICU
  • Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
  • Shift work compulsory
  • Understand basic IPC practices
