Job Overview:

The Waiter is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience to guests in an a la carte restaurant. This role involves upholding the restaurant's brand standards, driving sales, and efficiently executing campaigns Key responsibilities include providing excellent guest service, managing cost and waste, and actively participating in team meetings. Additionally, the Waiter will handle opening and closing duties, shift handovers, and mise en place to ensure smooth restaurant operations

Total Guest Experience

  • Service Excellence: Provide attentive, courteous, and professional service to all guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
  • Menu Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Make recommendations and answer guests’ questions confidently.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and effectively, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Brand Ambassadorship

  • Uphold Standards: Represent the restaurant's brand and values through your appearance, behavior, and service quality.
  • Promote Values: Consistently demonstrate and promote the restaurant's commitment to quality, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Sales
  • Upselling: Actively promote and upsell menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Order Accuracy: Ensure accurate and timely order taking and delivery. Double-check orders for accuracy before submitting them to the kitchen.

Campaigns Execution and Implementation

  • Campaign Participation: Support and execute promotional campaigns and special events as directed by the Floor Managers. Communicate details and updates to guests effectively.
  • Feedback: Provide feedback on the success and challenges of campaigns to the Floor Managers, contributing to future planning and improvements.

Teamwork and Morale

  • Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service operation. Support colleagues during busy periods and help as needed.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, contributing to a harmonious and motivating work environment.
  • Contribute and Commit to Vibe Meetings
  • Participation: Actively participate in Vibe meetings, sharing insights, suggestions, and feedback to improve team performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Commitment: Commit to implementing action points discussed in meetings and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

Cost and Waste Efficiencies

  • Resource Management: Manage restaurant resources efficiently, including minimizing waste and ensuring optimal use of supplies.
  • Cost Awareness: Be mindful of cost implications in all aspects of service, from handling orders to managing restaurant supplies.

Opening and Closing Duties

  • Opening: Assist with opening tasks, including setting up the dining area, preparing stations, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for service.
  • Closing: Participate in closing procedures, including cleaning and resetting the dining area, restocking supplies, and ensuring the restaurant is properly secured.

Shift Handovers

  • Handover Process: Conduct thorough shift handovers, including briefing the incoming team on any special instructions, guest needs, and any unresolved issues from the previous shift.
  • Communication: Ensure clear and accurate communication during handovers to maintain continuity and efficiency in service.

Mise en Place

  • Preparation: Assist in mise en place tasks, such as setting up stations with necessary utensils, condiments, and equipment, to ensure smooth and efficient service during your shift.
  • Organization: Maintain an organized and efficient workspace, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available for service.

 

Qualifications:

 

Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar role in a high-volume, a la carte restaurant is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service and ability to make recommendations.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Positive attitude and strong team-oriented approach.
