Job Requirements

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Grade 12
  • Qualified Grain Grader
  • In possession of all grading and fumigating certificates

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years’ experience as a Silo Manager  

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Pro-actively market all silo services/storage capacity and identify opportunities in the area
  • Manage quality and niche market products in the region
  • Monitor correct fumigation procedures during intake of grain
  • Oversee stock control of bulk grain and diverse bag products
  • Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external clients and timeously resolve client queries and disputes
  • Prepare and manage budget
  • Manage fixed assets per silo/bunker
  • Submit timely monthly and quarterly reporting and feedback on all activities in the region
  • Manage capacity planning and bin allocation to maximise storage periods and ensure effective utilisation of silos and bunkers
  • Identify new business and implement opportunities in the storage environment
  • Recruit and appoint competent employees, manage and monitor employee performance standards, identify training and development needs
  • Ensure that all employees are conversant with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance to FRESH audits
  • Conduct site audits to monitor grain intake and dispatch, cash handling and sales

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/ COMPETENCE

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English and Afrikaans)
  • Compliance, risk and legislative knowledge
  • Technical and financial skills
  • Ability to conduct internal training and awareness
