The Senior Product Manager owns complex, high-impact product areas within our fintech, telco, and digital ecosystem portfolio. This role is accountable for defining product strategy, shaping end-to-end customer journeys, and delivering measurable business outcomes in a regulated, multi-stakeholder environment.
Job Description

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own product strategy and roadmap aligned to business objectives and strategy.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities that drive growth, efficiency, and customer value across interconnected products and platforms.
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic investments.
  • Translate business objectives into clear product outcomes, success metrics, and investment opportunities.

Customer, Market & Problem Discovery

  • Deeply understand customer needs, behaviours, and pain points through qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Partner with UX and Data teams to define problem statements and validate solutions.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to inform product direction.
  • Identify unmet needs and ecosystem-level opportunities across product verticals.

Road-mapping & Prioritisation

  • Own and maintain outcome-based roadmaps that balance customer value, commercial impact, and technical constraints.
  • Prioritise initiatives using data, customer insights, and strategic fit.
  • Manage dependencies across teams, platforms, and external partners.
  • Clearly communicate roadmap changes, trade-offs, and rationale to stakeholders.

Delivery & Execution

  • Define clear product requirements, hypotheses, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery while navigating regulatory and technical complexity.
  • Actively manage risks, assumptions, and delivery constraints.

 

Journey Ownership & Optimisation

  • Own end-to-end customer journeys across onboarding, payments, servicing, and ecosystem integrations.
  • Define success metrics (e.g. activation, conversion, retention, compliance completion).
  • Monitor live performance using analytics and customer feedback.
  • Drive continuous optimisation through experimentation, iteration, and learning.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities and customer experiences.
  • Identify opportunities for intelligent, predictive, or personalised experiences.

Stakeholder & Commercial Management

  • Engage and influence stakeholders across business, technology, risk, and commercial teams.
  • Translate complex product topics into clear narratives for senior and executive leadership forums.
  • Support commercial modelling, business cases, and investment decisions.
  • Manage third-party and ecosystem partner dependencies where applicable.

 

Data, Metrics & Decision-Making

  • Define and track product KPIs and OKRs aligned to business outcomes.
  • Use data to inform prioritisation, measure impact, and course-correct decisions.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to uncover insights and validate assumptions.
  • Ensure decisions are evidence-based and outcome-focused.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure products meet regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements (e.g. KYC, PCI, AML, POPIA).
  • Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to balance usability with regulatory obligations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of product operating models, processes and standards.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Formal Product Management related training or certification
  • Agile delivery certification or demonstrable experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams.
  • Additional training in data analysis, financial modelling, or design thinking considered advantageous.
  • Equivalent practical experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualification

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8+ years’ experience in Product Management, ideally within fintech or complex digital B2C product.
  • Experience designing or managing payment-related products or flows is advantageous.
  • Proven experience owning and scaling customer-facing digital products.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role with B2C product management experience
