Job Description

Stefanutti Stocks Africa is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Buyer to support construction projects across the Africa region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of supplies for both live projects and tenders, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and compliant purchasing.

The role is head office based but will require travel to sites and reports directly to the Regional Commercial Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and well-organised professional who thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with strong collaboration skills and a proven track record of delivering results.

Key Performance Areas:

• Procurement of materials and equipment for construction projects at competitive rates
• Tender buying and supplier pricing negotiations
• Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
• Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
• General procurement-related administrative and operational support

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 10 years proven procurement experience within the construction industry
• Minimum Grade 12 
• A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field will be preferred
• Knowledge of project and construction management will be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge of tendering, site procurement, subcontractor sourcing, cost analysis and contract negotiation
• Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office
• A valid South African driver’s licence and own reliable transport are required

• Sound knowledge and application of B-BBEE Preferential Procurement principles
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of materials, equipment, and supplies
• Proven ability to interpret and extract specifications from tender documentation
