The organisation’s overall objective is to expand its impact through innovative and focused social development interventions that create an enabling environment to advance the economic mobility of previously marginalised communities.
Job Description

Role Purpose:

The role's primary purpose is to implement social cohesion programmes and awareness campaigns within the tenant base and provide administrative and tenant support services to Communicare Tenants. The position also supports the Social Development Officers (Social Workers) in providing social work services related to the care, support, protection, and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities through relevant Vulamathuba programmes. The individual will also be required to stay abreast of the latest developments, White Papers, and Acts governing Social Work Services.
This is a permanent position based at Pinelands, where the successful candidate will work with people in and around all Communicare residential complexes and neighbouring communities and will report to one of the Social Development Officers.

Job Requirements
  • Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Proof of completion of a Social Auxiliary Work Certificate Level 4
  • Registration with SACSSP
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Community and Social Development or facilitation is essential
  • Previous experience in running a Community Food Security (Gardening) Project is advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and at least one other official language predominantly used in the Western Cape
  • Ability to research relevant literature to design and implement relevant programmes
  • Valid driver's license and driving experience is essential
