The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity. The CSOS has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA)
Job Description

Responsibilities

  •  Ensure optimization of the Division.
  •  Ensure the availability of resources that facilitate effective service delivery within the Division.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Implement the Knowledge Management Strategy.
  • Provide education to stakeholders, including consumer education and awareness initiatives for community schemes.
Job Requirements


Qualifications

  • Law Degree
  • A postgraduate qualification in the relevant field or relevant NQF Level 8 (will be regarded as an added advantage)

Experience

  • 5 – 7 years within a legal environment, part of which must be within the property sector
  • Legal research
  • Proven record in presentation/training

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of Community Schemes environment
  • Knowledge of Community Schemes Governance
  • Company Law and Law of Contract
  • Business and performance measurement skills
  • Must be available to travel nationally and internationally
  • Knowledge of systems and information systems
  • Advanced presentation skills
