Job Description

Purpose of the job

As a business analyst, you will play a significant role within the business by acting as the interface between the various Business Stakeholders, Systems Team, Pepkor IT and other information technology suppliers. You will be the vehicle through which optimal business processes and underlying system functionality is developed in order to execute business strategy.


You will achieve this through elicitation and analysis of business requirements, processes and systems. You will have the opportunity to diagnose problems, identify solutions, propose improvements and execute action plans. You will be required to apply industry standards and best practices to define and manage the scope of projects and to meet objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discover & document Business processes to enable Continuous Improvement

  • Manage & determine business requirements to enable processes through systems

  • Document User Stories that accurately depict the system configuration or development required, to support business processes

  • Document Test Cases to enable thorough testing of System configuration

  • Training/Knowledge transfer

  • Project Management

  • Testing and validating System configuration

  • Facilitate the relevant User Acceptance Testing

  • Governing business processes and SOP’s

  • User support and trouble shooting

  • Ad hoc responsibilities 

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Buying experience in a retail environment

  • In Depth understanding of retail processes

  • Experience participating in cross-functional projects

  • Project management skills 

  • Presentation and communication skills
