The Web Producer is responsible for producing, curating, editing, and publishing digital news and current affairs content on eNCA’s first party platforms. The incumbent will also provide support and input into the digital content calendar, furthermore, providing content for third party platforms.
Job Description

The Web Producer is responsible for producing, curating, editing, and publishing digital news and current affairs content on eNCA’s first party platforms. The incumbent will also provide support and input into the digital content calendar, furthermore, providing content for third party platforms.

 

Content and Editing 

Producing web and app content daily, weekly, and monthly as per digital content calendar at the direction of the Digital News Editor 

Produce content in line with content style, for example, write an article, use mixed media with video, images, and graphics to achieve the highest impact with a story on web and app. 

Contribute to the daily diary with content type, style, and stories. 

Provide and produce unique stories for web and app. 

Evaluate, proofread, and edit, web and app content submitted by internal and external stakeholders. 

Provide URLs to web and app stories to the social media team and provide support for cross-publication. 

Continuously build the brand’s trust and credibility through effective use of the website and app 

Good knowledge of South African and Global news 

Ensure fact accuracy of stories produced. 

Live Streams

Ensure that livestreams are set up on time before they are due to go live. 

Ensure that the social media team has promoted the live stream ahead of time. 

Ensure that the livestreams run efficiently and without technical errors. 

Website and app Management and Analytics

Publish and manage content on web and app. 

Manage content categories, themes on web and app. 

Ensure all content on web and app conforms to the style guide. 

Ensure the website content verticals are up to date as per digital content calendar. 

Collaborate with and use data and insights or intelligence to identify trends and opportunities to appeal and grow the audience. 

Use data, analytics, insights, and intelligence to identify top stories and or trending stories to leverage off.

Content and Platforms

Produce a minimum of 15 web and app stories a day. 

Ensure web and app stories are digital native, in accordance with digital style guides. 

Adhere to all legal and editorial policies, requirements, and guidelines. 

Contribute to daily dairy, weekly and monthly calendar with web and app / digital first stories. 

Audience

Develop content suitable for the target audience. 

Monitor audience behavior and trends to identify potential opportunities and or threats for web and app content. 

Produce compelling content to improve audience engagement on web and app content.

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

??National Senior Certificate? is Essential

?National Diploma in Journalism is Essential

Bachelors Degree in Journalism is Recommended

Experience 

3 years in Journalism, Media, or Digital Newsroom and/or related field

Drivers Licences is Recommended

Language Proficiency 

English - Advanced

Technology Proficiency

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Analytics, Crown Tangle, Audio, Video Editing production, Website CMS and/or Social Media
